Biomechanical Review

$60

Is your horse ‘fit for purpose’?

With this review I will assess your horse via photos and videos sent by you (specifics will be provided). I will assess symmetry and correctness of gait, noting specific muscle strengths and weaknesses including conformational ones.  Following this you will be provided specific recommendation on how to improve your horses’ fitness for purpose.  This could involve specific ridden or in hand exercises and stretches or rehabilitation plans.

Rehabilitation Plan

$75

Has your horse been recently diagnosed with a biomechanical injury, or coming back into work following an injury?

It is important to have a recovery plan for after your vet has declared your horse fit to start resuming work.  As with humans’, horses can lose muscle tone, stability and proprioception (awareness of their limbs) with an injury. The most successful outcome will be obtained by following a structured rehabilitation plan.  I have some generic rehabilitation plans for common injuries for immediate download purchase but also offer a tailored individual rehabilitation and therapy plan for your horse, planning their return to full recovery including performance enhancement, injury prevention and restoration of full function.

Training Plan

$60

Are you in training for a specific event?  Horses in competition require training plans which will address all areas of their fitness including strength, endurance and cardio vascular.  I can provide a structured training plan

Diet Analysis

$35

Has your horse been recently diagnosed with a biomechanical injury, or coming back into work following an injury?

A horse’s stomach evolved to graze, and small amounts of forage frequently is the ideal diet.  With the enormous amount of choice at your fodder store of grains, premixed feeds and supplements, it can be hard to sift through the information and advice to work out what is best for your horse.

My first tip – feed more hay!!  Most horses are able to live comfortably and healthily off of pasture or hay.  A general vitamin/mineral supplement can be added but my basic advice to people is to feed an appropriate amount of hay/pasture to keep a horse’s weight in a healthy range.

This isn’t always appropriate if your horse is either overweight, or gets enough work, that they cannot maintain their weight from forage alone.  This is when you may need some extra guidance.

With this diet analysis I will look at what you are currently feeding, your horse’s environment, and your goals.  I will then provide a basic overview of an appropriate feeding program for your situation.
